The holiday weekend is almost upon us! Make sure your clinic is ready with these tips:
Post now about your clinic's upcoming hours, and schedule a closed post for Tuesday (and any other days your office is closed). Be sure to include emergency phone numbers or recommended 24 hour facilities.
Double check your holiday hours on Google, so you don't appear "open" on a Google search on the holiday. In fact, you can go ahead and change these for all holidays in the future.
Remind owners of last minute medication pickups and boarding arrangements for Saturday/Monday.
Share information about your recommendations for noise aversion medications and make sure your clients know these options exist. Maple's personal savior Sileo has a great client friendly website with videos:
Also share your non-medication tips for noise aversion, like Thundershirts, keeping music on, etc. This would be a great and quick live video topic for your doctors or technicians!
General safety tips for the holiday are important too! I'll be sharing some all weekend here, including recommendations to make sure your pet is wearing his or her collar, keep, taking a picture for easy access in case of a lost pet, BBQ safety, etc.
And last but not least, don't forget to share and ask for some fun photos of our patients showing off their patriotic side like my favorite pups here. Ripl app has this and other fun and easy holiday photo templates!
Have a great and safe holiday! -Caitlin DeWilde, DVM
