Hey! I'm Caitlin. I'm a vet, a marketing nerd, and mom to that a herd of lemony pets that only a veterinary professional would own (and two small humans).

About Caitlin

The Social DVM was created by Dr. Caitlin

DeWilde in 2013. A veterinarian long

interested in business, marketing and

practice management, Dr. DeWilde saw the

untapped potential of veterinarians to easily

and affordably connect with their clients

through social media. While many

veterinarians and staff didn't have the time,

training or technology know-how to make

this possible, Dr. DeWilde thrived on

maximizing the efficiency and connectivity

of her own and several other practices.

Caitlin is a graduate of the University of

Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and a

recipient of their Outstanding Young Alumni Award, and also an alum of the AVMA’s Future Leaders Program. She served as medical director for a large AAHA/Fear Free/Cat-Friendly certified hospital in St. Louis before stepping back to focus on her marketing passion. Today, she divides her time between practice, consulting, and writing. She is the author of a new book, “Social Media and Marketing for Veterinary Professionals,” and a columnist for Today’s Veterinary Business.

Because she can’t be serious all the time, she is also the co-author of the Vets Against Insanity game series and the Vetmoji veterinary emoji app. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family and pets, travel, photography, and of course, the many hilarious corgi and cat-related videos on social media.

Active in her profession, Dr. DeWilde is also a member of:

  • American Veterinary Medical Association

  • Missouri Veterinary Medical Association

  • Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association

  • American Association of Feline Practitioners

  • American Animal Hospital Association

  • VetPartners

  • Fear Free Pets (Certified Professional)
